Why Willow?
When we set out to establish our dental practice, we came from two decades of work and friendship, knowing that we both valued the same qualities of excellence in personalised dental care. The graceful willow is a symbol of who we are and our vision for our business, and so became our namesake.
The willow reflects our vision to create a canopy of care in the dental setting in Norwest and our focus on patients’ growth toward dental wellness. The grand willow resonates with the strength of our shared experience and resilience to bend and thrive in life’s challenges as female health care providers.
Willow Symbolism @ Willow Dental Care
The willow is a symbol of life and thriving, symbols we desire for our patients and our new business in Baulkham Hills. A willow branch can be planted in the ground as an intentional cutting—or even a fallen branch—and can very quickly grow a new tree. Its ability to grow and thrive is symbolism that resonates with us as we start this new venture.
A Canopy of Care: Protect - Guard - Nurture
The willow creates a cascading canopy of shelter from the elements. We see our Norwest Dental Practice as a trusted shelter and place of protection for many needs. We have a strong commitment to preventing dental disease and maintaining oral health both in the developing smiles of children and for those who have sustained the impact of damage to teeth and gums. Dental anxieties bring vulnerability that requires nurturing and a patient, kind approach. This has become the type of care for which we are known. We treat our patients as whole people and consider their history, health, time and budget when planning for them to achieve the best long-term outcomes. A personalised and customised approach means we treat our patients like we would our family and take time to walk the shared journey to dental wellness.
Biological Beauty and Balance
The willow is a symbol of biological beauty and balance. Our long experience as local Hills Dentists ensures a gentle touch and commitment to quality. It can’t be underestimated that our attention to detail ensures these elements are also undergirding all restorative treatments. We truly care for you and your smile, and when placing fillings create beauty in both the teeth seen in improving your smile and those teeth that nobody else can see.
Robust Foundations below Ground, Delicate Foliage Above
The willow is often found near water, its source for growth, and its vigorous deep root system has significant symbolism. The robust roots that develop beneath the earth give strength to the river bank and the tree, while aboveground, the foliage appears delicate and elegant with its vines gently drifting in the breeze. Our dental care is founded on science and a commitment to continuing education. Behind the scenes in our Hills District Dental Practice, there is robust infection control to ensure the safety of our patients and our team. These foundations support the provision of elegant dental care with a gentle touch.
Connected - Health - Healing - Wellness
Further exploration of willow symbolism showed that the willow was held in high esteem for its connectedness with the water, the riverbank and the people. As long term local dentists, we have a heart for the hills and a connection with Baulkham Hills, Norwest, Bella Vista, Kellyville, Castle Hill, Glenhaven, Winston Hills, Glenwood and Rouse Hill.
Ancient cultures used the willow bark for relief of pain, fever and inflammation. Its medicinal and healing properties are part of the development story of some modern medicines. For example, Hippocrates prescribed willow bark remedies to reduce fevers in 400BC. The willow in Latin is Salix, and from this word, salicylic acid is derived, a component of aspirin and other medicines.
Although we won’t be recommending aspirin, we will provide treatment and advice to manage and help eliminate pain. Health is our prime concern. If you have dental pain, we have means to help relieve it and will look after you. If you are tired of living with dental pain, we can help you with that too.
